For many people in Panama, February is synonym
with carnivals, but for those who are passionate
about fashion, it is the month when the most important
designers from different fashion capitals
like New York, London, Milan and Paris present
their new collections. In this case, the Fall-Winter
2017-2018 collection.
As usual, the fashion month started in the city that
doesn’t sleep, New York. With the political tension
arriving Trump’s entrance to the presidency of the
United States, fashion got political.
“Fashion is a sponge in terms of what is
happening in culture”, said the Thai-american
designer Thakoon Panichgul just before
presenting his last collection.
Several brands and designers took seriously
their support of minorities and subordinated
people in America, these being the themes
this year including rebelling against the Muslim
Ban of the new American government.
