Network Intelligence Suite<br />

instrumentation tools were chosen<br />

by the RDECOM CERDEC, PEO C3T<br />

and ATEC in December 2007. ATEC<br />

is planning to conduct a Network<br />

General Network Intelligence Suite<br />

instrumentation certification event<br />

using a <strong>WIN</strong>-T Increment 1a test<br />

network located at General Dynamics,<br />

Taunton, Mass., in September<br />

20<strong>08</strong>. This verification event is being<br />

conducted to certify the Network<br />

General Network Intelligence Suite<br />

instrumentation tools to be used by<br />

the U.S. <strong>Army</strong> Operational Test<br />

Command during the <strong>WIN</strong>-T<br />

Increment 1a Initial Operational Test<br />

and Evaluation event to be conducted<br />

in October 20<strong>08</strong>.<br />

Post Milestone C/Low Rate<br />

Initial Production <strong>WIN</strong>-T Increment<br />

1a Production Verification Testing<br />

A post-Milestone C Decision<br />

was provided in an Office <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Secretary <strong>of</strong> Defense Acquisition<br />

Decision Memorandum, dated June<br />

5, 2007. The post-Milestone C<br />

Decision directed a Low Rate Initial<br />

Production designated for test and<br />

evaluation to support Production<br />

Verification Testing and operational<br />

test events. The equipment procured<br />

under a LRIP will support the<br />

following events: PVT – contractor<br />

conducted, PVT – government<br />

conducted, operational testing and<br />

fielding requirements. The LRIP<br />

quantities are as follows: two Hubs,<br />

63 JNN Shelters and 271 Battalion<br />

Command Post Nodes.<br />

The PVT will verify compliance<br />

<strong>of</strong> the <strong>WIN</strong>-T Increment 1a system to<br />

the contractual product specifications.<br />

PVT is performed one time<br />

using a sample from the LRIP<br />

quantities and consists <strong>of</strong> the following<br />

test and evaluation requirements:<br />

� Safety<br />

� Temperature (low and high)<br />

� Humidity<br />

� Rain<br />

� Sand and dust<br />

� Weight, center <strong>of</strong> gravity<br />

� Helicopter sling load<br />

� CH-47 flight test<br />

� Vibration (Munson Road,<br />

secure cargo)<br />

� Shock (rail impact, transit<br />

drop)<br />

� Electromagnetic Interference<br />

� Transient Electromagnetic<br />

Pulse Emanation Standard<br />

� High Altitude Electromagnetic<br />

Pulse<br />

� Logistics demonstration<br />

� Functional network “overthe-air”<br />

Ku-band satellite<br />

� <strong>Army</strong> Interoperability<br />

Certification<br />

� Joint Interoperability<br />

Certification<br />

� Information assurance<br />

� Chemical Biological and<br />

Radiological Nuclear Analysis<br />

These test and evaluation<br />

requirements will be validated<br />

either through test and/or<br />

analysis.<br />

PVT for <strong>WIN</strong>-T Increment 1a is<br />

being conducted from January 20<strong>08</strong><br />

through March 2009. PVT for <strong>WIN</strong>-<br />

T Increment 1b is to be determined.<br />
