<strong>Swaffham</strong> Arts<br />
The mystery and awe inspired by Fenland landscape<br />
and history were captured in the work of the young<br />
poet Poppy Kleiser, who read her work to us in<br />
February. Some poems she recited from memory, and<br />
they came across in a very personal and powerful way.<br />
We were able to add an extra event in mid-March, an<br />
afternoon concert in the church, given by the Norwich<br />
based soprano, Sarahjane Stephen, accompanied<br />
on the piano by Duncan Barlow. An appreciative<br />
audience enjoyed the lovely quality of Sarahjane’s<br />
voice and way she interpreted the mood of each song,<br />
complemented by the fine acoustics of the church.<br />
We are delighted to welcome Norfolk Symphony<br />
Orchestra to <strong>Swaffham</strong> on Saturday April 29th at<br />
7.30pm when they will be giving a concert in the<br />
church. They will be playing Mendelssohn The<br />
Hebrides Overture, Warlock Capriol Suite, Haydn<br />
London Symphony, and the highlight of the evening,<br />
Mozart Horn Concerto No 2, the horn soloist local<br />
businessman Martin Childs. This will be the last<br />
event of the season before our AGM in May. We<br />
hope you can join us on this special occasion.<br />
