Summer 2016 marked the start of the biggest investment project in the history of
the Kläppen ski resort. A 10-passenger gondola lift from Doppelmayr/Garaventa
is part of the project. The two sections of the Gondol Sälen are linked by means
of an angle station. This also houses the drive, which provides the propulsion for
both rope loops via a twin-groove bullwheel. The 47 cabins with panorama glazing
guarantee fantastic views. The barrier-free cabin design ensures that passengers
with wheelchairs or baby strollers can enjoy a comfortable ride. The customized ski
holders are fitted on the outside of the cabin. Once arrived at the top, the winter
sports practitioners head straight for the ski slopes, while other guests enjoy the
spectacular view over coffee in the mountain restaurant. In good weather, it is possible
to see as far as Norway.
