This month we want to introduce to all of
you our latest endeavour – SpiceStyle,

We begin last month’s highlights
with our altruistic initiative called
#GivingWingsToDreams. This is a special
programme through which SpiceJet
operates special flights for underprivileged
children and ones with special needs.
We organised a special flight on March
20 for 50 children from Chandigarh. The
crew engaged with these first time flyers
explaining the finer details of flying and
the experience whilst they enjoyed a meal
on-board.
Holi celebrations this year too were
special with an on-the-ground flash dance
of children from Mala Smriti Home and
Arya Orphanage at Delhi Airport’s Terminal
1-D. To thank them for making it special,
SpiceJet operated a special flight for these
children. The kids were pampered on-board
with delicious in-flight meals besides being
gifted with goody bags from ITC and Amul,
and SpiceJet merchandise giveaways.
This year, SpiceJet promoted the concept
of #spicejetwaterlessholi, which involved
distributing Holi stickers that could be
pasted by passengers on one another,
thus celebrating the spirit of the festival
and conserving water at the same time.
A welcome chandan tilak, a white/denim
dress code and serving of gujiyas on-board
ensured that we delighted our customers
by recreating the festival magic.
I am happy to report that your
favourite airline continued its exemplary
performance. Our On-Time Performance
was the best of all airlines for the sixth
month in a row. Our Passenger Load Factor
was the highest among all airlines for the
23rd month in a row.
This month we are proud to start
our seventh international destination
with a daily flight on the Kolkata-Dhaka
route. Next month would also witness
SpiceJet flying a popular route from
India - a nonstop daily flight between
Delhi and Bangkok. This new flight will
connect the cities of Jaipur, Srinagar,
Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jammu, Gorakhpur,
Dharamshala, Surat and Jabalpur through
convenient connections from Delhi. And
within the domestic sector, we have
launched a double daily flight from Delhi to
Surat, the Diamond City of Gujarat.
Last month we announced the
graduation of the first batch of our
Apprentice Program for aviation engineers.
This is our initiative towards upskilling
India consistent with Prime Minister Shri
Narendra Modi’s vision of a Skilled India.
The programme draws students from
various AME institutes and trains them
on state-of-the-art equipment under
the instruction of world class tutors to
address the severe shortage of industryready
engineers. On March 15, 2017, in
the presence of Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy,
Minister of State, Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship and Shri Jayant Sinha,
Minister of State for Civil Aviation, SpiceJet
hosted the convocation ceremony of the
first batch of 21 students.
