BEER DAY BRITAIN
The Bermondsey Micro-Brewery Tour takes
in the famous Bermondsey Beer Mile and its
ten breweries or enjoy the vibrant Street Art
and Craft Beer Tour in Peckham.
The East London Craft Beer Tap Tour starts
at the White Hart Brew Pub and finishes in
Redchurch Brewery, Bethnall Green’s most
chilled and funky micro-brewery with some
seriously great craft beers, or take the
Southwark Brewery Tour and Tastings
or the Fourpure Brewery Tour which shows
the steps needed to make 6,000 litre batches,
starting from the grain and ending with the
finished beer!
For a flavour of the Bristol brewing scheme
it’s all aboard HMS Hops for a Craft Beer
Boat and Brewery Tour! This private ferry
sails down the canal with a tutored tasting of
Bristol based Crane Beer before a behind the
scenes tour of the Moor Brewery back on
dry land.
A sobering 20 minute walk follows to the
Beer Emporium where a selection of cask and
keg Bristol beers accompanied with meat and
cheese parings can be enjoyed!
The award-winning Thornbridge Brewery
in the Peak District is playing its part in the
British beer boom too! First brewed in 2005
in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall, they focus
on cask beers using traditional recipes with a
modern day twist.
They now operate from two sites, with a
state-of-the-art brewery and bottling line at
Bakewell and The Hall, where experimentation,
barrel ageing and creating premium bottled
products leads the way. With over 350 national
and international awards, delighting drinkers
of cask, keg or bottled beer is a passion this
brewery excels in. Their 90 minute tour at the
Bakewell site offers an introduction to the
brewing process with sample beers served in
a Thornbridge branded glass, which people
can take home.
