SOrah 68. Al-Qalam Part 29 777<br />

36. What is <strong>the</strong> matter <strong>with</strong> you? How<br />

judge you?<br />

37. Or have you a Book wherein you<br />

learn,<br />

38. That you shall <strong>the</strong>rein have all that<br />

you choose?<br />

39. Or have you oaths from Us, reaching<br />

to <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong> Resurrection, that yours will be<br />

what you judge?<br />

40. Ask <strong>the</strong>m, which <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m will stand<br />

surety for that!<br />

41. Or have <strong>the</strong>y "partners"? Then let<br />

<strong>the</strong>m bring <strong>the</strong>ir "partners" if <strong>the</strong>y are<br />

truthful!<br />

42. (Remember) <strong>the</strong> Day when <strong>the</strong> Shin111<br />

shall be laid bare (i.e. <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong><br />

Resurrection) and <strong>the</strong>y shall be called to<br />

prostrate. <strong>the</strong>mselves (to Allah), but <strong>the</strong>y<br />

(hypocrites) shall not be able to do so.<br />

a) Narrated Abu-Sa'id ...:.. ..li 1 ~J: I heard <strong>the</strong> Prophet rL, ',!.l& ..li I J-o saying, "Allah will lay<br />

bare His Shin and <strong>the</strong>n all <strong>the</strong> believers, men and women, will prostrate <strong>the</strong>mselves before<br />

Him; but <strong>the</strong>re will remain those who used to prostrate <strong>the</strong>mselves in <strong>the</strong> world for showing<br />

<strong>of</strong>f and for gaining good reputation. Such a one will try to prostrate himself (on <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong><br />

Judgement) but his back (bones) will become a single (vertebra) bone (so he will not be<br />

able to prostrate). (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.6, Hadith No.441 ).<br />

c) Narrated Abu Sa'id AI-Khudri w ..li 1 ~J: We said, "O Allah's Messenger! Shall we see<br />

our Lord on <strong>the</strong> Day <strong>of</strong> Resurrection?" He said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing <strong>the</strong> sun<br />

and <strong>the</strong> moon when <strong>the</strong> sky is clear?" We said, "No." He said, "So you will have no difficulty<br />

in seeing your Lord on that Day as you have no difficulty in seeing <strong>the</strong> sun and <strong>the</strong> moon (in<br />

a clear sky)." The Prophet ,1-J ~ ..li I J-o <strong>the</strong>n said, "Somebody will <strong>the</strong>n announce, 'Let<br />

every nation follow what <strong>the</strong>y used to worship.' So <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cross will go <strong>with</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

Cross, and <strong>the</strong> idolaters (will go) <strong>with</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir idols, and <strong>the</strong> worshippers <strong>of</strong> every god (false<br />

deities) (will go) <strong>with</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir god: till <strong>the</strong>re remain those who used to worship Allah, from <strong>the</strong><br />

righteous pious ones and <strong>the</strong> mischievous ones, and some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Scripture<br />

(Jews and Christians). Then Hell will be presented to <strong>the</strong>m as if it were a mirage. Then it<br />

will be said to <strong>the</strong> Jews, 'What did you use to worship?' They will reply, 'We used to worship<br />

'Uzair (Ezra), <strong>the</strong> son <strong>of</strong> Allah.' It will be said to <strong>the</strong>m, 'You are liars, for Allah has nei<strong>the</strong>r a<br />
