Did pirates steal Johnny Depp’s millions?
Not quite. One of Hollywood’s highest-paid
actors, Johnny, 53, has outspent his manyzeroed
paychecks with the help of exotic
property buys and an itch for excess — be it
the 45 luxury cars in his garages, the
200 pieces of rare art or the Hollywood
“collectibles” that fill 12 pricey storage
facilities. He’s sued his former managers,
claiming they racked up late fees on his taxes
and recklessly wasted his money — but they’ve
since countersued, claiming the actor ignored
multiple warnings about his spending, lest he
have to curtail his “ultra-extravagant lifestyle.”
Johnny, who’s oft-credited with the success of
the $4 billion Pirates of the Caribbean
franchise, probably won’t be learning restraint
anytime soon: “It’s my money,” he said
recently. “If I want to buy 15,000 cotton balls
a day, it’s my thing.” (Of course, he’ll need a
