alleges she began a sexual affair with the former
baseball star at the height of his 18-month
relationship with Cameron, now 44, after they
met at Equinox gym in West Hollywood.
‘The first time I met him, he said, “I love
you, we should be married… What do you
think people would think of us?”’ she recalls.
The father-of-two is ‘very into his image’, she
adds – hence his long line of famous exes,
including Madonna, Kate Hudson, Bethenny
Frankel, Julianne Hough and, of course, Cam.
‘I slept with him and then he went to
the MTV Awards with her,’ Lauren admits.
‘I can’t tell you how many times we slept
together while they were together.’ She also
remembers seeing photographs of A-Rod
and Cam from the awards night. ‘She looked
really sad. I could see it was the end.’
That was in June of 2011. By September, Cam
and A-Rod had called it quits, with one insider
claiming the actress was ‘very busy with her
career [and] he’s had injuries and wants to focus
on his game. They’re dedicated professionals.’
Soon after their very public break-up, and
despite his ‘injuries’, A-Rod went on to date
a slew of famous women, including Demi
Moore, while Cameron remained single.
It wasn’t until 2014 that she allowed herself
to love again, this time with Benji. That same
year, she confirmed a former partner had
cheated on her, but refused to name names,
simply telling an interviewer, ‘We all know
what betrayal feels like… I’m not planning on
going out with anyone who cheats on me again.’
A year later, she and Benji were wed – despite
previously swearing off the ‘old tradition’ of
marriage – and put A-Rod to the back of her
mind. Now, thanks to Lauren, Cameron has
to relive the heartbreak all over again.
