Step 4 on the flow diagram on the previous page :
MEETING WITH YOUR CHURCH LEADER
• Meet with your leader. Take with you a document called “REQUEST FROM A LEADER A PRE-
DNA CHANGE MEETING”. You can download this document by visiting www.churchdnachange.
com/resources/seminar attendees. You’ll need a password which is
mark1615. Then look for the section “Letters you could write to your
church leadership.” You’ll see the file in this section.
• Before you show them this document, debrief him/her about:
• The ODC (if you’ve been to one)
• Julian Batchelor’s book (if you’ve read it)
• What you have read in this ETL guide.
• Explain to the pastor that:
• You’d like to work with him/her to mobilise all the people in your
church for evangelism.
• That this is an entirely biblical plan.
• Other churches are doing it successfully.
• It will result in the growth of his/her church.
• To mobilise everyone in a church, the church must execute a three phase plan.
• Encourage your pastor and the other leaders at your church to read Julian’s book and attend a ODC.
• At this meeting you are wanting your pastor to agree to proceed to phase one, which is to host what we
call a PRE-DNA CHANGE CONFERENCE MEETING with the rest of the leaders of your church. What
does this meeting involve?
Step 5 on the flow diagram.
PHASE ONE:
HOST A PRE-SEMINAR MEETING WITH
YOUR PASTOR AND OTHER LEADERS IN
YOUR CHURCH.
A representative of Evangelism Strategies International
(ESI) will meet with you and the leaders of your church
OR with the leaders of a group of churches e.g. churches
in the same geographical locality - a suburb of a city or all
the churches in a small town.
• This meeting could take up to three hours but is
often only 1.5 hours.
• We get to meet you and you get to meet us.
• The meeting is a forum to interact and ask
questions.
• At this meeting we want to understand your
existing evangelism vision and hear what you want to achieve.
• We show you how you can mobilise 100% of the people in your church for evangelism, even if you have a
very elderly congregation. The strategies we unveil are not labour intensive.
• You’ll see how you and your church can be more effective with the Great Commission.
• You’ll see how the strategies we offer can really help build unity and forward momentum in your church
• By attending this phase one meeting, you and your church are not obligating yourselves to anything
further. You are effectively window shopping.
