Kapalua Golf in Maui
Last but certainly not least, we look at Hawaii’s
arguably most talked-about course. It is
challenging, but it is fun as well. This is one of
the most beautiful courses in the world.
Kapalua Golf is home to an awe-inspiring
golfing spectacle. With holes that are set like
jewels by the sea, on turquoise lagoons, on the
slopes of old volcanoes, and by lush rain forests,
it is unmatched in many ways.
It offers golfers a unique opportunity to tee
off to the immense ocean blue, take on fairways
that are wrapped around a dormant volcano, and
putt under tropical rainbows.
The Plantation Course, which was designed
by famed golf architects Ben Crenshaw and Bill
Coore, stretches out across natural geographic
formations and pineapple plantation fields.
Do bear in mind that this beauty is also a
beast. Its lengthy 7,411 yard par-73 layout may
be imposing as that distance challenges even the
more- accomplished players. Fear not, as its wide
fairways, and generous greens render the course
more playable for the average golfer.
With dramatic elevation changes, Kapalua
offers plenty of downhill tee shots. Hole 18 is a
bomber’s paradise, where long hitters can let
loose. With the help of the aggressive slope of the
18th fairway, golfers could be in for one of the
longest drives of their lives.
