MARKET HOG SALE ORDER IS AS FOLLOWS: GRAND<br />
& RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION, TOP HERDSMAN<br />
WINNERS, SHOWMANSHIP WINNERS.<br />
THE SHEEP SALE WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:<br />
GRAND & RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION,<br />
TOP HERDSMEN WINNERS, RATE OF GAIN,<br />
SHOWMANSHIP WINNERS.<br />
2. Each member may sell only one project through the auction<br />
and it must immediately go to slaughter because the auction<br />
is terminal.<br />
3. To be eligible to receive any auction proceeds the exhibitor<br />
must exhibit their own project. Any exceptions will be<br />
determined by the Senior Fairboard.<br />
4. Exhibitors may sell market hogs, market lambs, market<br />
beef, one dozen eggs, gallon of dairy cattle milk, gallon of<br />
dairy goat milk, broilers, roasters, turkeys, meat goats and<br />
market rabbits. ALL MARKET RABBITS will sell based on<br />
market standards. NO FEEDER CALVES WILL BE SOLD.<br />
5. Exhibitors of the Grand Champions and Reserve Grand<br />
Champions must sell their market animals. Exhibitor of the<br />
Grand Champion Dairy Cow, Grand Champion Dairy Goat<br />
and the Grand Champion Production Pen of Poultry must<br />
be present with their animal when their product is sold.<br />
6. WEIGHT OF ANIMALS: NO animals will be sold unless<br />
these weight requirements are met:<br />
BEEF ..........................850 pounds or over<br />
HOGS. .................. over 200 pounds<br />
Hogs under 200 will not be sold<br />
SHEEP ............................ over 90 pounds<br />
MEAT GOATS ...................... over 45 pounds<br />
MARKET RABBITS .............. 3.5-5.5 pounds each<br />
7. Show weights are sale weights. Beef weights are broken<br />
on 5 pound increments.<br />
8. Animals will be weighed ONLY ONE TIME. This weight will<br />
be the SALE weight.<br />
(cattle will be shrunk if packer requires)<br />
9. Members exhibiting two market hogs will sell only the<br />
heaviest hog. Members exhibiting two animals of another<br />
specie will sell the heaviest of the two unless changed in<br />
Junior Fair Office.<br />
10. .All market hogs will go immediately to slaughter. No swine<br />
will be allowed to return to any farm or feeding operation.<br />
11. . ..SALE PROCEDURE : All exhibitors consigning animals<br />
and animal by products must:<br />
(a) be present when the animal is weighed<br />
(b) BE PRESENT FOR THE SALE<br />
(c) securely tie or pen animal after the sale<br />
(d) stay with the animal until the buyer/packer places the<br />
animal on the truck to go to market.<br />
ANIMAL’S CARE IS THE EXHIBITOR’S RESPONSIBILITY<br />
UNTIL THE ANIMAL IS PLACED ONTO THE PACKERS’<br />
TRAILER.<br />
12. All members will be responsible for feeding, watering and<br />
general care of their animals until the buyer or packer picks<br />
up the animals sale night.<br />
13. The commission for selling Junior Fair Livestock (as<br />
determined by the Auction Committee) will be a percentage<br />
of the gross income:<br />

13% ......................Chickens, Turkeys & Eggs<br />

Dairy Cattle Gallon of Milk .....10% Awarded to the seller<br />
70% divided among all Jr. Fair dairy cattle exhibitors<br />
(not selling another animal) 10% for the necessities as<br />
the <strong>Mercer</strong> Co Auction Comm. deems appropriate 10% to<br />
species<br />
Dairy Goat Gallon of Milk ......20% Awarded to the seller<br />
60% divided among all Jr. Fair goat exhibitors<br />
(not selling another animal)<br />
19% for the necessities as<br />
the <strong>Mercer</strong> Co Auction Comm. deems appropriate<br />
1% to species<br />
Dozen Eggs ................40% Awarded to the seller<br />
40% divided among all Jr. Fair layer pullet exhibitors<br />
(not selling another animal)<br />

the <strong>Mercer</strong> Co Auction Comm. deems appropriate<br />
1% to species<br />
This money is retained for sale promotion, publicity in local<br />
newspapers, buyers’ dinner and mandatory check- offs and<br />
other necessities as the <strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>County</strong> Auction committee<br />
deems appropriate.Commission percentages are subject<br />
to change as the committee deems appropriately.<br />
14. Animals sold are NOT to be returned to the members<br />
because that animal, once sold in the Junior Fair sale,<br />
is not eligible to be shown again by that exhibitor or<br />
any other Junior Fair member in any Junior Fair show<br />
in any Ohio county, independent or State Fair. ALL<br />
LIVESTOCK SOLD THROUGH THE JUNIOR<br />
FAIR AUCTION MUST IMMEDIATELY<br />
GO TO SLAUGHTER. ALL GRAND AND<br />
RESERVE CHAMPION ANIMALS MEAT<br />
AND PROCESSING COSTS WILL BE THE<br />
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR<br />
UNLESS THE MEAT IS FOR HOME USE OF<br />
THE BUYER.<br />
15..Checks will be available for mailing and/or distribution<br />
when ALL ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN SETTLED.<br />
16. Drug Use Notification Forms will be required for any<br />
market livestock, dairy cow (in production) and dairy<br />
goat (in production). Forms will be collected at weigh-in.<br />
Completed forms must be given to the Senior Fairboard<br />
Director in charge of these forms (records official) when<br />
the animal is weighed. Any animal testing positive<br />
for any drug will not be sold in the junior fair<br />
auction. Any product from a positive animal<br />
will not be sold.<br />
17. All junior fair market livestock and dairy exhibitors must<br />
participate in, or test out of, the Quality Assurance training<br />
programs as announced and conducted by the Extension<br />
Office to be eligible to show and sell.<br />
18.To be eligible for sale at the auction, all animals must be<br />
free and clear of any and all liens.<br />
19.Any exhibitor with more than one project<br />
eligible to go through the auction ring must<br />
declare at skillathon night which project is to<br />
be listed in the sale book. If a species is not<br />
declared, the Auction Board will choose.<br />
20. Any changes to the specie declared must be changed in<br />
the Junior Fair Office by Tuesday, August 15th by 3:00<br />
p.m.<br />
21. Auction animals will only be eligible for home use by the<br />
auction buyer.<br />
