Age Division:<br />
Any female swine exhibitor, ages 16 or older as of 1/1 current year,<br />
may apply for this award.<br />
Duties:<br />
If selected for royalty, each person must attend their specie(s) shows<br />
and sale to represent their department. They are representing<br />
the <strong>Mercer</strong> <strong>County</strong> Junior Fair and taking on the leadership and<br />
responsibility to be a role model for the other members.<br />

POULTRY KING AND QUEEN<br />
1. Any poultry exhibitor will be considered for this award.<br />
2. An exhibitor may win this award once during their junior fair<br />
career.<br />
3. The award is selected by the department’s adult superintendents.<br />
An application is not needed.<br />
4. Criteria considered includes: record book score, skillathon score,<br />
meeting participation and assistance provided to the department.<br />
5. Announcement of the winner will be during the awards ceremony<br />
at the end of the poultry show.<br />
6. Those selected may not be married or have borne or fathered a child.<br />
They should be of good moral character. Should not be convicted of<br />
any criminal offense, use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous<br />
substancees or abuse the use of alcohol.<br />

SPECIAL INTEREST PRINCESS CONTEST<br />
CONTEST RULES<br />
1. Applicant are to be 12 - 18 years of age as of 1/1 of the current<br />
year.<br />
2. Participate must be an active 4-H member and completed the<br />
requirements necessary to compete in special interest projects.<br />
3. Applicants eligible to compete may not be married or have<br />
borne or mothered a child before or during reign.<br />
4. They should be of good moral character. Should not be<br />
convicted of any criminal offense or do not use or consume any<br />
illegal controlled dangerous substancees or abuse the use of<br />
alcohol.<br />
5. Application forms are available from the Extension Office or<br />
online at mercer.osu.edu.Applications must be turned in or post<br />
marked to Extension Office by August 1.<br />
6. An exhibitor may win this award once during their junior fair<br />
career.<br />

SHOWMAN OF SHOWMEN CONTEST<br />
WEDNESDAY beginning at 1 p.m<br />
IN THE ADRIAN DEBROSSE SHOW ARENA<br />
1. Any Junior Fair exhibitor age 13-19 (as of Jan. 1 of current year)<br />
having completed a p roject in one of the four species involved in<br />
this contest may participate.<br />
2. Each exhibitor will show a beef, dairy, sheep, and swine animal.<br />
(In this order)<br />
3. In case of a tie score for final placing; the judges discretion will be<br />
used.<br />
4. The participant must present a signed permission slip, when<br />
registering for the contest, from the owner of the animal(s).<br />
Registration paperwork is available in the extension office and<br />
Junior Fair office. This paperwork is due noon the day before<br />
the show (Tuesday) to the Junior Fair office.<br />
5. The judge will place showmen first to tenth placing in the class<br />
awarding points as follows:<br />
1st place = 20 points • 6th place = 8 points<br />
2nd place = 18 points • 7th place = 7 points<br />
3rd place = 15 points • 8th place = 6 points<br />
4th place = 12 points • 9th place = 5 points<br />
5th place = 10 points • 10th place = 4 points<br />
6. The classes will be split into two (2) divisions. The classes will<br />
be divided based upon the ages of each registered participant.<br />
There will then be a Junior, Intermediate and Senior Showman of<br />
Showmen recognized.<br />
7. In the event that there is a Junior, Intermediate and Senior.<br />
Contest, the Junior and Intermediate Showman of Showmen<br />
would be eligible to compete in this contest again. The Senior<br />
Showman of Showmen can not compete in future years.<br />
8. The person(s) with the highest score(s) at the end of the contest<br />
will be named Showman of Showmen.<br />
9. There will be a short break between all classes so that animals<br />
may be cared for appropriately.<br />
