6. Royalty will be announced at 6 p.m. on Friday of the fair before the
Jr. Fair King and Queen Contest.
Age Division:
Any female swine exhibitor, ages 16 or older as of 1/1 current year,
may apply for this award.
Duties:
If selected for royalty, each person must attend their specie(s) shows
and sale to represent their department. They are representing
the Mercer County Junior Fair and taking on the leadership and
responsibility to be a role model for the other members.

POULTRY KING AND QUEEN
1. Any poultry exhibitor will be considered for this award.
2. An exhibitor may win this award once during their junior fair
career.
3. The award is selected by the department’s adult superintendents.
An application is not needed.
4. Criteria considered includes: record book score, skillathon score,
meeting participation and assistance provided to the department.
5. Announcement of the winner will be during the awards ceremony
at the end of the poultry show.
6. Those selected may not be married or have borne or fathered a child.
They should be of good moral character. Should not be convicted of
any criminal offense, use or consume any illegal controlled dangerous
substancees or abuse the use of alcohol.

SPECIAL INTEREST PRINCESS CONTEST
CONTEST RULES
1. Applicant are to be 12 - 18 years of age as of 1/1 of the current
year.
2. Participate must be an active 4-H member and completed the
requirements necessary to compete in special interest projects.
3. Applicants eligible to compete may not be married or have
borne or mothered a child before or during reign.
4. They should be of good moral character. Should not be
convicted of any criminal offense or do not use or consume any
illegal controlled dangerous substancees or abuse the use of
alcohol.
5. Application forms are available from the Extension Office or
online at mercer.osu.edu.Applications must be turned in or post
marked to Extension Office by August 1.
6. An exhibitor may win this award once during their junior fair
career.

SHOWMAN OF SHOWMEN CONTEST
WEDNESDAY beginning at 1 p.m
IN THE ADRIAN DEBROSSE SHOW ARENA
1. Any Junior Fair exhibitor age 13-19 (as of Jan. 1 of current year)
having completed a p roject in one of the four species involved in
this contest may participate.
2. Each exhibitor will show a beef, dairy, sheep, and swine animal.
(In this order)
3. In case of a tie score for final placing; the judges discretion will be
used.
4. The participant must present a signed permission slip, when
registering for the contest, from the owner of the animal(s).
Registration paperwork is available in the extension office and
Junior Fair office. This paperwork is due noon the day before
the show (Tuesday) to the Junior Fair office.
5. The judge will place showmen first to tenth placing in the class
awarding points as follows:
1st place = 20 points • 6th place = 8 points
2nd place = 18 points • 7th place = 7 points
3rd place = 15 points • 8th place = 6 points
4th place = 12 points • 9th place = 5 points
5th place = 10 points • 10th place = 4 points
6. The classes will be split into two (2) divisions. The classes will
be divided based upon the ages of each registered participant.
There will then be a Junior, Intermediate and Senior Showman of
Showmen recognized.
7. In the event that there is a Junior, Intermediate and Senior.
Contest, the Junior and Intermediate Showman of Showmen
would be eligible to compete in this contest again. The Senior
Showman of Showmen can not compete in future years.
8. The person(s) with the highest score(s) at the end of the contest
will be named Showman of Showmen.
9. There will be a short break between all classes so that animals
may be cared for appropriately.
