Entry requirements<br />

A minimum of 5 GCSEs with the following<br />

grades: English at grade 4 <strong>and</strong> maths at grade 3<br />

or above, <strong>and</strong> 3 other GCSEs grade 4 or above<br />

including a science subject.<br />

Overview<br />

This course allows learners to apply biological,<br />

chemical <strong>and</strong> biomedical sciences to the field of<br />

medical healthcare.<br />

You will develop your practical <strong>and</strong> investigative<br />

skills in the classroom <strong>and</strong> the laboratory to<br />

develop techniques in biochemical testing,<br />

dissection <strong>and</strong> obtaining the physiological<br />

measurements of patients.<br />

• Biomedical sciences<br />

• Disease <strong>and</strong> infection<br />

• Microbiological techniques<br />

• Chemical laboratory techniques<br />

• Physiology of human body systems<br />
