The Tongariro Outdoor Adventure Program is located in a
beautiful wilderness area of the Central North Island adjacent
to the Tongariro National Park. Tongariro offers an inf inite
variety of natural environments f illed with volcanic features,
lakes, rivers, mountains and native bush, providing life changing
experiences that are fun and expertly managed. As you enter
this great, wild wilderness, you will experience a glimpse of
times gone by, without any digital distractions, just plain, simple
and meaningful living!
Established in 1887 Tongariro was the f irst National Park in
New Zealand. It is also a dual World Heritage area, recognizing
the Park’s important Maori cultural and spiritual associations,
as well as its outstanding volcanic features in an area surrounded
by lakes, rivers, mountains and native bush.

Activities during the week include kayaking, rock climbing,
caving, abseiling, f lying fox, low ropes, mastering high ropes,
learning bush skills, Canadian canoeing, mountain and bush
tramping, camping, overnight expeditions as well as hiking
New Zealand’s most stunning mountains.
