Vintage romance meets modern luxury as Clerkenwell
vintage fair arrives at its new home, the 5 star
Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch, during
London Fashion Week.
After checking into The Court house Hotel
in Shoreditch and much to my delight
realising that we were there for the first
weekend of the Clerkenwell vintage
fashion fair, it would be rude not to give
up out Sunday afternoon plans to stroll
around the many colourful stalls.
Shopping Vintage is just one way to be
ethical in your purchasing choices. It
saves clothes from landfill and gives us
an ethical way of satisfying a desire for
new clothes without embracing fastfashion
culture, let alone the fact that
it’s completely nostalgic and you can get
amazing one off pieces that you are not
likely to see other people in. And don’t
be fooled that you have to look like a
50s throw back to wear vintage. Mix and
match new and vintage items to create a
unique look.
The Clerkenwell Vintage fashion fair
has been running since 2009, curated by
Savitri an award winning events organiser
with years of experience in the fashion,
film, advertising and music industry. For
2017 The fair has moved to The Court
House hotel in Shoreditch steeped in
Vintage glamour itself, the hotel used to
be, yes you guessed it - The Court House,
which was a regular meeting place for the
notorious Krays brothers. The super chic
bar with jail themed cocktails, still has
the cells in place were Reggie and Ronnie
where once locked up and now celebrated
in these stylish VIP booths.
Sure enough the queue started forming as
