Vintage romance meets modern luxury as Clerkenwell<br />

vintage fair arrives at its new home, the 5 star<br />

Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch, during<br />

London Fashion Week.<br />

After checking into The Court house Hotel<br />

in Shoreditch and much to my delight<br />

realising that we were there for the first<br />

weekend of the Clerkenwell vintage<br />

fashion fair, it would be rude not to give<br />

up out Sunday afternoon plans to stroll<br />

around the many colourful stalls.<br />

Shopping Vintage is just one way to be<br />

ethical in your purchasing choices. It<br />

saves clothes from landfill and gives us<br />

an ethical way of satisfying a desire for<br />

new clothes without embracing fastfashion<br />

culture, let alone the fact that<br />

it’s completely nostalgic and you can get<br />

amazing one off pieces that you are not<br />

likely to see other people in. And don’t<br />

be fooled that you have to look like a<br />

50s throw back to wear vintage. Mix and<br />

match new and vintage items to create a<br />

unique look.<br />

The Clerkenwell Vintage fashion fair<br />

has been running since 2009, curated by<br />

Savitri an award winning events organiser<br />

with years of experience in the fashion,<br />

film, advertising and music industry. For<br />

2017 The fair has moved to The Court<br />

House hotel in Shoreditch steeped in<br />

Vintage glamour itself, the hotel used to<br />

be, yes you guessed it - The Court House,<br />

which was a regular meeting place for the<br />

notorious Krays brothers. The super chic<br />

bar with jail themed cocktails, still has<br />

the cells in place were Reggie and Ronnie<br />

where once locked up and now celebrated<br />

in these stylish VIP booths.<br />

Sure enough the queue started forming as<br />
