Bradford City welcome Fylde today in the first
round of the FA Women’s Premier League
Cup.
Team news
The Bantams will be without two key players
today – defender Paige Crosby and playermanager
Charlotte Stuart.
Crosby had to be stretchered off in the draw
with Nottingham Forest last week after
suffering a nasty looking knee injury.
Stuart too was substituted in that game after
a facial injury which required 20 stitches.
Current form
Bradford come into the game looking for their
first win of the season, following defeat at
Leicester and a draw against Forest.
Fylde, meanwhile, convincingly beat last
year’s runners-up Middlesbrough 3-0 on the
opening weekend, before their clash with
Derby County was postponed last Sunday.
Previous meetings
These two have faced each other twice since
the launch of Fylde’s ladies’ side, with today’s
visitors winning both encounters.
Hannah Smith is also a doubt this afternoon
with a groin problem.
However, these blows are cushioned as the
hosts welcome back both Ellie Olds and Lucy
Preston.
