with this part of his field of labor,
although he hoped that good results would fol
low. He had been in the village but half an
hour, but that was too long. However, he had
attempted to do good, and there was pleasure
even in the attempt.
It was three o'clock when he returned. He
had been on the alert nearly all day, but he was
not at all fatigued, or, if so, he
did not yet per
ceive it. He had a few more labors of love to
perform, which he hastened to finish as fast as
he could, lest the night should arrive too soon
for him.
