Birmingham Philharmonic’s last concert at Sutton
Coldfield Town Hall formed part of the ‘Save the Town
Hall Campaign’. Three years on then and, whisper it
quietly, the Town Hall is back, looking firmly on the path
to salvation. So it is under far happier circumstances that
Birmingham Philharmonic are welcomed back to Sutton
Coldfield for their 2018 concert, An Invitation to the
Dance.
Under the expert eye of conductor, Richard Laing, this
will without doubt be a night of musical marvels. The
performance will open with Weber’s ‘Invitation to the
Dance’ before moving onto pieces by Prokofiev and
Tchaikovsky to Kodaly and Strauss – among esteemed

Pam Ayres

Pam Ayres has been making
the nation laugh for more than
40 years. A writer, broadcaster,
and entertainer, she is the
author of several best-selling poetry collections, including
The Works, With These Hands, Surgically Enhanced
and You Made Me Late Again! Funny and warm,
her charming understated manner belies a rare comic
precision. Her hair-trigger timing, her eye for the absurd
details of everyday life, and unforgettable turn of phrase,
combine to make her a true national treasure.
Pam is a regular face on television, and recent radio
broadcasts include Just A Minute, Loose Ends, and five
of her own series of Ayres On The Air for Radio 4. Aged
69, Pam is still one of the most popular female comedians
performing in UK theatres, and the Lichfield show this

WHAT: Live Life on Broadway
WHERE: Lichfield Cathedral

There will be a fabulous evening of entertainment in
the beautiful setting of Lichfield Cathedral when local
adult and youth choirs and musicians join together to
celebrate and raise funds for the Live Life Give Life
charity through the music of Broadway. All proceeds
of the evening will go to the Live Life Give Life charity,
who raise awareness of organ donation.
The music on the night will be brought to you by four
choirs, all performing a range of songs from famous
Broadway musicals; the Lichfield-based Kaleidoscope
female voice choir, Stagecoach Lichfield, Lichfield
Cathedral Youth and Young Voices choir and
Birmingham-based Half Circle Singers.
Tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s plus
a small booking fee, and refreshments will be available
