The British Hairdressing Awards are the hair industry
Oscars, the gold standard for stylists all over the
country, and the Midlands Hairdresser of the Year
category seeks to recognise the most inspiring stylists
in the region, catapulting the finalists into the upper
echelons of the nation’s very best hairdressing talent.
It is not the first time that Lewis has been in the
running for the prestigious title - in 2010 Lewis entered
and won Midlands Hairdresser of the Year, and was
also a finalist in 2014.
Being a previous winner, Lewis’s collection for the
latest awards entry, titled Futurism, sought to push
boundaries and make a real statement. Inspired by
the Italian social and artistic movement of Futurism,
Lewis used the architecture and design aspects of the
movement for his inspiration to create a collection of
stunning looks using strong graphic and defined outline
shapes with overlapping and contrasting textures.
With more than 30 years of experience in the industry,
Lewis Moore is one of the Midlands’ brightest
hairdressing stars. Starting out working in a small
salon in his hometown of Cannock, Lewis moved to
a national company for three years before spending
more than 20 years working for the renowned
Francesco Group.
Lewis started as a stylist and worked his way up
to multiple franchisee with four salons in Streetly,
Aldridge, Tamworth and Buxton. In 2012 Lewis left
Francesco’s to set up Lewis Moore Salons in Sutton
Coldfield.
Lewis’s vision is to create a small group of salons
with a boutique feel, personal but very professional,
offering an ethos of ‘affordable luxury’. As well as
his two successful salons in Sutton Coldfield and
Streetly, which opened in late 2015, Lewis endeavours
to open future salons throughout the Birmingham,
Staffordshire and West Midlands areas and is
continually looking to train and employ willing staff to
join his unique team.
Lewis is also a member of the Joico European design
team, travelling extensively throughout Europe
educating and inspiring through seminars and shows
for the Joico brand as well as being involved and
creatively leading his teams at salons in the Midlands.
He is one of eight of in the Joico design team that
represent the brand throughout the UK and Europe
teaching, attending brand shoots as well as shows.
