CENTERVILLE ICE HOCKEY
CENTERVILLE HOCKEY WELCOMES NEW HEAD COACH SCOTT MATHIS
Prior to assuming his current position as Centerville Hockey Head Coach, Scott served as an assistant coach for
the Beavercreek High School varsity hockey team (2016-2017). Additionally, he coached the Oklahoma City Oil
Kings travel bantam team from 2012-2016. His other coaching experiences include time as an on-ice instructor
for summer camps with Hockey Ministries International and the Air Force Academy.
Scott attended the United States Air Force Academy from 2009-2012 before earning his Bachelor’s degree in
Business Management. He lettered four years in hockey for the Academy’s Division I ice hockey team. Before
college, he played two seasons for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL from 2006-2008.
Scott is married to Kori. As natives of Chicago, they’re both thankful to be back in the Midwest to enjoy its four
seasons and being closer to family. During their free time, Scott and his wife enjoy traveling, hiking, and trying
new restaurants.
LOOKING FORWARD TO 2017-18
Going into the 2017-2018 season, the Elks have very high hopes. After a graduating class of 6 seniors last year,
the Elks have not missed a beat and are gearing up for yet another tough season. This season boasts rematches
against several of the high-caliber teams they faced last season. With 4 tournaments and 15 regular season
games the Centerville Elks hope to end the season with a strong record and a growing future of excellence for
the program.
The SWOHSHL Championship is the goal, and with some shake ups in the league, the Elks feel that this is their
moment to bring the Cup back to Centerville. It’s been away far too long!
