MILITARY EXERCISES<br />
7 SEPTEMBER <strong>2017</strong><br />
The general public is to be advised that a<br />
NZ Army Exercise will be conducted inthe<br />
West Melton Rifle Range, Sandy Knolls Road<br />
and Aylesbury Range areasover the period 7<br />
<strong>September</strong> <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
The exercise will involve personnel of 2/1<br />
RNZIR, from Burnham Military Camp. The<br />
exercise will involve up to 90 personnel.<br />
Training will involve soldiers conducting<br />
live firing activities at the West Melton Rifle<br />
Range and Aylesbury Range areas on 7<br />
<strong>September</strong>. All firing will be finished at 6pm.<br />
Live ball ammunition natures will be fired<br />
over the period. The exercise will also involve<br />
the movement of troops and vehicles by day<br />
and night between Burnham Military Camp<br />
and West Melton Rifle Range along Sandy<br />
Knolls Road.<br />
8 – 10 SEPTEMBER <strong>2017</strong><br />
The general public is to be advised that a NZ<br />
Army Exercise will be conducted in the West<br />
Melton Rifle Range area over the period 8-10<br />
<strong>September</strong> <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
The exercise will involve personnel of 2/4<br />
RNZIR, from Burnham Military Camp. The<br />
exercise will involve up to 40 personnel.<br />
Training will involve soldiers marching, living<br />
and functioning in the field and carrying<br />
weapons in and around the West Melton<br />
Rifle Range area from 6pm 8 <strong>September</strong> – 12<br />
noon 10 <strong>September</strong>.<br />
Live rounds and pyrotechnics will be used.<br />
The exercise will also involve the movement<br />
of troops and vehicles by day along the Old<br />
West Coast Road.<br />
