Building product options on display
For a totally different approach to
gathering building ideas and learning of
product options for a new home, Jennian
Homes’ Studio J Design Centre is worth a
visit.
The studio allows visitors to experience,
see, touch and view modern building
products in a sequential way from time of
entering where one sees a sample of RibRaft
flooring; exterior cladding choices such as
weatherboard, bricks, plaster options, schist
pillars; garage doors; and paving.
As you walk further into the Design
Centre there are multiple choices for
the internal fit-out. A stunning kitchen
cleverly illustrates set-ups and features from
cupboard fronts, drawers, handles and
finishes through to a bench top selection
and appliances.
Studio J also showcases floor covering
choices like tiles and vinyl planking along
with eighty types of carpet from Jennian
Homes’ suppliers Cavalier Bremworth,
Irvine Flooring and Norman Ellison
Carpets.
On display in the bathroom area are
various tapware, showers, vanities, heaters,
towel rails and other fittings from a number
of well-known New Zealand suppliers.
Jennian Homes’ Studio J Design Centre
really is a one-stop shop, which simplifies
the decision making process associated with
planning a new build.
“With around 400 decisions to be
made when building a new home it can
be overwhelming. We wanted to make it
easier for clients to choose so we decided
to put together a design centre that allowed
multiple choices to be made in the one
visit,” says Dwayne Prendergast.
“We’ve had really positive response from
visitors to the studio. Most find it really
engaging and have expressed delight at how
easy the centre has made the process of
selecting the various components for their
new homes.”
Dwayne purchased the Canterbury
Jennian Homes’ franchise in June 2016 and
was joined by co-owner Paul Jenkins earlier
this year. They have a hands-on approach to
their business with Dwayne working closely
with the sales team and meeting clients
early on while Paul manages the building
projects, interacting with clients on site.
This personal ownership ensures there is
always someone to talk to throughout the
design and building process.
