Three students from Uckfield Community
Technology College braved the cold
on Saturday 13 January to sell cakes to
passers-by in Uckfield High Street and
raise money for charity. Melissa Beavan
13, Rosanna Walker-Smith 12, Esme
Dawson 12 raised £85.02 by the end of
the day. They all attend UCTC, and this is
part of their Project in the Community.
They have also run a ‘guess the sweets
in the jar' competition at the Sense
Charity shop and have been working with
Brighter Uckfield litter picking.
NSPCC BIG BUDDY WORKOUT AT ROCKS PARK SCHOOL
Rocks Park School have been keeping fit
to raise money for the NSPCC! Thanks
to their PE expert, Miss Fairbairn, all
the children took part in the “The Big
Buddy Workout!” On Wednesday 17
January. This followed a visit from Sally
Stubbs of the NSPCC who worked with
all the children to give out the important
message of, “Stay Safe! Speak out!” It
was an excellent opportunity to combine
teaching the importance of keeping safe
with having fun and staying healthy and
raising money for such an important
cause all at the same time!
