ROCKS PARK SCHOOL ‘MISSION SURVIVAL’ DAY

On Monday 8 January Year 6 at Rocks
Park School launched their ‘Survivor’
learning journey with a ‘Mission
Survival’ day. The children came dressed
appropriately to survive in their chosen
environment.
Their challenge was to pack their
‘life-saving backpacks’, (taking advice
from Bear Grylls), and set off on their
adventure into the challenging outdoors!
Foraging for any natural materials that
they could find, they worked in teams,
to design and build a shelter. Their
creativity in working with their natural
surroundings was impressive as was their
teamwork. Everyone enjoyed learning
and problem solving together, producing
shelters to be proud of.
HOMELESS DONATION DROP OFF POINT AT ALLSORTS UCKFIELD
In December, Sara Moult wanted to help
the homeless in Brighton and take her
son Josh along to show him that everyone
is not as fortunate as us and how we can
help other people in need. She decided to
ask a friend and her son to come with her
to give out hot drinks, food and clothes.
James Anderson at Allsorts offered his
shop up as a drop off point. They had
an overwhelming response from the
community and, in mid-December, they
went out with all of the contributions and
helped many homeless people.
Sara decided to do it all again in January
and has said, "It is fantastic to teach our
kids empathy and that they can help
others and make a difference".
