have had comments that it is dangerous entering
and leaving the car park and the cars parked on
the road are causing congestion. We are trying
to find solutions to the parking issue but in the
meantime please walk to the surgery if you can,
or if not then please park carefully. Thank you.
Super Fun Run - 18th June
Carols on the Common in December was when
we presented the funds raised from the 2017
Super fun Run to Buckinghamshire Mind. The
Fun Run on its own had raised a significant
amount, however, due to the fantastic support
given to the 2 themed evenings of Fawlty
Towers and Only Fools and Horses held in
support of Mind, the total raised and presented
to Bucks Mind was a staggering £15,000!!!
It's now 2018, and we are preparing for the
next Fun Run. This year we have chosen 2
charities to support, “Sparkles” who are locally
based and provide support and therapies for pre
school Downs Syndrome children allowing
them to receive the tools to help them assimilate
into full time schooling, and also, "Charlies
Footsteps". We have previously supported Orlas
own steps, and now we want to support Charlie
to enable him to achieve his own ability to
walk. We hope you will support us as always in
these 2 very worthy causes.
As usual, it takes a lot of resources to make
the event happen, from an hour here to an hour
there, any support you can give will be greatly
appreciated by the whole community. If you
know anyone, or would yourself, like to
sponsor the event in some way, please get in
touch. We look forward to seeing everyone in
Spring Watch on the
Common 2018
Last year saw the
resurrection of an annual
Bird survey of the
Common with 3 early
Sunday morning walks
recording the bird species seen
or heard at the time. A motley collection of
“rookies” old and young turned out to be guided
around the Common by one or two more
knowledgeable folk including Neil Harwood,
our environmental Guru. With wit and humour
