Property of the Month
WE TAKE A SNEAKY PEEK AT SOME OF THE HOTTEST PROPERTIES ON THE MARKET IN
THE AREA EACH MONTH. THIS MONTH’S SELECTION IS A 1930S GEM IN ONE OF THE
MOST DESIRABLE AREAS OF LICHFIELD
Hillboro, Borrowcop Lane, Lichfield: £1,100,000
On the market with Mr & Mrs Clarke: 0330 111 9766
THE AGENT SAYS: Set back on one of the most desirable
roads in Lichfield, Hillboro is so secluded you can’t even see
it from the road, yet it is just a short stroll away from the town
centre. This impressive 1930s family home is elevated in the
centre of its own large and imposing gardens – the views are
simply stunning. As you approach the house by the private
drive you really get the sense that this is a very special place.
In fact, the well-established grounds were often shown off by
previous owners at open garden events and parties.
Hillboro has been updated over the last few years and
extended into a second floor but it still retains many beautiful
period features, our personal favorite being the servant bells,
that still work. Once you enter the home through the original
1930s door you find yourself in a large hallway with all the
rooms leading from it.
The kitchen is a further highlight of the home, it is vast and
perfectly designed to be the hub of family life. Renovated
recently with sleek modern cabinets and built appliances
including that all important wine fridge but most important,
the current owners retained the walk-in pantry.
This house doesn’t have a garden it has grounds and they are
simply breathtaking. From the sun room you find yourself on
a large south facing paved terraced, perfect for entertaining.
There’s even a small boxed vegetable patch and herb garden.
Down the steps over the driveway that sweeps in front of the
house you reach a large lawned area, which is best kept for
best and those all-important garden parties.
