Celebrated chef and author Dan Doherty will be<br />
making his way to Harvey Nichols Birmingham in<br />
<strong>March</strong> as part of a series of pop-up supper clubs across<br />
the UK.<br />
The collaboration will see Dan take his unique supper<br />
club, Sprout, to Harvey Nichols stores nationwide;<br />
starting in Leeds, followed by Manchester, Bristol<br />
and rounding off the tour in at Harvey Nichols<br />
Birmingham on Friday, <strong>March</strong> 23.<br />
Sprout is a special dining experience that makes heroes<br />
of seasonal ingredients, reflected in both the menu and<br />
the space. Each venue will be decorated with greenery<br />
and ceramics for one night only to bring the elements<br />
of the menu to life.<br />
The exclusive menu will consist of a complimentary<br />
cocktail made with Silent Pool gin on arrival, followed<br />
by playful sharing plates to start; slow cooked lamb<br />
shoulder with hot hummus, fried chickpeas and pine<br />
nuts, served with purple sprouting broccoli for the<br />
main – inspired by some of Dan’s favourite flavours<br />
and European cuisines; and a delicious pistachio<br />
and orange cake with rose Chantilly and drizzled<br />
with orange blossom honey to finish. To top it all<br />
off, Doherty will be making homemade hobnobs, his<br />
all-time favourite biscuits, for guests to take away with<br />
them and enjoy at home.<br />
Born and raised in Shrewsbury, Dan started his<br />
career at The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts as an<br />
apprentice with London’s Michelin-starred 1 Lombard<br />
Street under the rigorous leadership of mentor<br />
Herbert Berger.<br />

Dan opened Duck & Waffle as their executive chef<br />
in 2012. Located atop a 40-story skyscraper at 110<br />
Bishopsgate in the city of London, Duck & Waffle<br />
is London’s first 24/7 gourmet dining restaurant<br />
and offers vistas across the whole of the city from<br />
its enviable location. Dan’s signature dishes include<br />
creative offerings such as the foie gras crème brûlée<br />
and fan-favourite, the spicy ox cheek doughnut - as<br />
well as, of course, the famous duck and waffle dish<br />
from with the restaurant takes its name.<br />
Dan’s first cookbook, Duck & Waffle: Recipes and<br />
Stories, was released in the autumn of 2014, featuring<br />
more than 100 of his signature recipes and kitchen<br />
anecdotes. The cookbook received much critical<br />
acclaim and landed a spot on Great British Food<br />
magazine’s Book of the Year. He released his second<br />
cookbook Toast Hash Roast Mash: Real Food for<br />
Every Time of Day in 2016, which focuses on the<br />
recipes he cooks at home for family and friends –<br />
informal, easy and as indulgent as ever.<br />
