A PROPOSAL to have <strong>Selwyn</strong> ratepayers contribute to the<br />
planned Christchurch sports and events arena has received<br />
mixed responses from residents – see page 1.<br />
It’s a difficult issue, and as Leeston Community Committee<br />
chairman Lloyd Clausen pointed out, where will the line be<br />
drawn?<br />
If <strong>Selwyn</strong> ratepayers are to contribute to this, what about<br />
other projects going on in Christchurch which <strong>Selwyn</strong> residents<br />
will use?<br />
<strong>May</strong>or Sam Broughton says more clarification is needed before<br />
consultation takes place – it will be interesting to see what<br />
other <strong>Selwyn</strong> ratepayers think of the idea.<br />
As you’ll read on page 3, some Lincoln residents aren’t keen<br />
on another bottle store in the area. It is a fight we have already<br />
seen last year, let’s see how this one goes.<br />
