◗ Telephones should be located off to the side of active pedestrian
paths, visible from the street, and near gathering places such as bus
stops or busy shopping areas.
◗ The telephone booth pictured is the one recommended for use in
Cherry Creek North. It is available from: King Products Limited,
3150 Wharton Way, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, (416) 625-1111.
◗ For each 1,000 square feet of plaza space, a litter receptacle with a
minimum capacity of one cubic foot should be provided. Plazas
containing outdoor eating, services or other uses should double the
capacity of litter receptacles. If there are uses that generate lots of
trash adjacent to the plaza, additional trash receptacles should be
provided.
◗ Each food vending cart on a privately owned plaza should be
accompanied by one additional trash receptacle.
◗ Refer to Denver Department of Public Works for the equipment
standards for bicycle parking areas.
◗ Fresh drinking water should be provided in each plaza. In the event
that two drinking fountains are provided, one shall be 2 feet 6
inches high, operated by hand and foot, and display the
International Symbol of Access for the convenience of the disabled.
Place leaning rails at or near bus stops, places where shoppers are
picked up or dropped off, and places where people are likely to just
stop, wait, and observe without necessarily wanting to sit.
◗ Any seating for more than six people in a privately owned plaza
should have a trash receptacle associated with it.
◗ The use of the district’s trash receptacle should be considered. It
matches the fixed seating and is available from: Kershner Associates,
