On a sunny spring day last May
Prince Harry was seen stealing
a kiss with Meghan Markle in the
grounds of Coworth Park in Berkshire
after playing polo. It was the irst time
the couple’s romance had been
caught on camera, so it seems itting
that almost one year to the day later,
the royal groom-to-be returned to the
country retreat to spend his last night
as a single man there.
While bride Meghan spent the eve
of her wedding 17 miles away at
Cliveden House with her mother
Doria Ragland, the sixth in line to the
throne checked in to the historic
Ascot estate with his brother and best
man, the Duke of Cambridge.
The entire hotel was booked up
between 17 and 19 May and the
33-year-old Prince’s evoked
happy memories from the
early days of his romance with
his new bride Meghan.
Set in 240 acres of
ower meadows and ancient
nd, the luxury establishment
markets itself as “the perfect place
for a special occasion” – and its
opulent surroundings are certainly
it for a Prince.
The grand 18th-century estate,
once the property of aristocrats
including the Earl of Derby, is also
home to one of Harry’s favourite
sporting pursuits, with its own polo
ield and on site equestrian centre.
BEHINDCLOSEDDOORS
It is thought Harry stayed in Dower
House – a charming three-bedroom
annexe set in an idyllic private garden
– or the lavish Mansion House
Premium Suite with its four-poster
bed and en-suite marble bathroom
with free-standing copper tub. The
luxury country house hotel offers
guests a full VIP
treatment.
As well as being
served modern twists
on classic British dishes
in the Michelin-starred
restaurant that
overlooks the rose
terrace and croquet
lawn, Harry might
have indulged in the
luxury spa, perhaps
enjoying a bespoke
programme of
treatments created
just for the groom-tobe
by the spa’s team
of top therapists.
With a deep tissue
massage, reining facial,
Ayurvedic scalp massage plus an
expert manicure and pedicure, Harry
would likely feel as if he were loating
on air as he walked up the aisle
to marry his beautiful bride.
Harry is familiar with Coworth,
having played polo there. After he
and his brother the Duke of
Cambridge took part in a game
last May (above), the Prince was
spotted sharing a kiss with
Meghan Markle (above left)
