She began her serene procession
down the aisle of St George’s
Chapel as she had always intended:
as an independent woman,
walking solo.
Gliding gracefully through the
nave to the celestial sound of Welsh
soprano Elin Manahan Thomas
singing George Frideric Handel’s
Eternal Source of Light Divine,
beautiful bride Meghan Markle
was then met by the man who
would accompany her on the inal
leg of her journey to her Prince’s
side: her future father-in-law, the
Prince of Wales.
LOVE,ACTUALLY
Her symbolic welcome into the
royal family by the heir apparent
couldn’t have been sealed in a
warmer fashion. As he gently took
her arm, he whispered a few kind
words of reassurance before escorting
her through the chapel, which was
illed with the scent of roses, foxgloves
and her favourite peonies.
So eager was the Duke of Sussex
to capture his first glimpse of his
bride that he kept looking around
to ind her. When she inally drew
near, a vision of elegant beauty in
her pearl-white gown, the 33-yearold
Prince was mesmerised.
This feeling of awe was mutual –
the moment Meghan saw Harry,
she visibly relaxed, holding her
head high as his calming presence
imbued her with conidence.
