‘CROWN’ STARS RULE THE CEREMONY
Her on-screen character may never
have had a coronation, but there
was a crowning moment for Vanessa
Kirby when she took home the Bafta
for Best Supporting Actress at this
year’s awards ceremony (far left).
The 30-year-old, who played Princess
Margaret in hit Netflix drama series
The Crown, paid tribute to the Queen’s
late sister, calling her “so colourful and
vivid and brave and strong”. Accepting
her award at the ceremony at London’s
Royal Festival Hall, Vanessa added:
“This is for Margaret, wherever she is.”
She also thanked her co-star Claire
Foy (aka the Queen), who missed out
in the Best Actress category, but still
managed to reign on the red carpet by
accessorising her Rosetta Getty dress
with a Time’s Up badge (left).
It was a memorable night, too, for
Kate Adie, who was presented with the
Bafta Fellowship by news presenter
Kate Silverton (below left). The veteran
journalist (below right, wearing a sling
after tripping and breaking her arm at
home) told the audience: “It’s an
absolute privilege to be a reporter.”

COUPLE READY TO TACKLE PARENTHOOD
Former footballer Frank Lampard will soon be
welcoming a new addition to the home side,
following news that his TV presenter wife
Christine is expecting her first child. The
announcement makes it a hat-trick for the ex-
England midfielder, who has two daughters –
Luna, 12, and 11-year-old Isla
–
from a previous relationship.
Frank made the big reveal on
Instagram, posting a family selfie
(right). “We have some exciting
news we wanted to share with you.
The Lampard family is growing!”
he wrote next to the pic. “My
gorgeous wife is pregnant and we
all couldn’t be happier!!!”
Similarly keen to keep fans
and followers up to speed,
Christine reposted the pic,
adding: “The Lampard family
are expanding!! I feel SO
excited, nervous and grateful.
The list of emotions is endless.”
The couple married in
London in 2015 after six years
together. However, Loose Women
panellist Christine has
previously told how babies
were not “on the agenda” for a
while. “If it happens, it happens, but right now all
is well in my world,” she said last year.
The baby is due in the autumn and Christine
joked on the lunchtime ITV show that having her
secret out in the open had one big advantage: not
having to “suck in”. She told the audience: “It’s
nice to be able to breathe out. t”
