Why yoga might help you be
a better kiter
Kitesurfing as a sport carries great physical and mental benefits,
but it’s also a discipline that challenges your body, stresses muscles
and tendons and necessitates total concentration and coordination.
Practising yoga, as proved by many professional riders,
can be a great way to relax your body and mind, get restored,
increase one's own perception and have a more intimate and deep
connection with nature.
Kitesurfing is a sport that creates
huge benefits to body and mind.
It increases self-confidence, improves
self-esteem, allows to
take on your own limits and deep
in nature, but most of all it gives
an overall well-being feeling.
On the other hand, it is a discipline
that can be quite challenging
for the muscles, tendons and
our stamina. When in the water
we must stay focused and every
movement we make takes a high
concentration level, especially if
we try to learn a new manoeuvre
or trick. Good kiters must be in
good physical shape, train the
muscles of legs, back and arms,
that's both to get more power
during some manoeuvres, prevent
possible injuries and quickly
recover from any accidents.
That's body wise. But how do we
train our mind? Yoga can be a
great way to keep both trained.
Let's see how this ancient and yet
enormously popular art can have
a positive impact on our performance
and generally improve us
as kiters.
