Discounted beverages until first try scored, footy food
menus, complimentary bar snacks, merchandise
giveaways and major prize draws – it must be State
of Origin time! Despite the challenges of a mid-week
event it is great to see so many hoteliers advertising
promotions to lure patrons off their couches and into
the pubs to enjoy the game. I hope Game 1 was a
success at your venue and I look forward to seeing the
promotions implemented for Game 2 on
Sunday 24 June.
WIDE BAY REGION QHA HOTELIERS LUNCH
Thank you to the hoteliers and partners who
attended the QHA Wide Bay Hoteliers Lunch held at
the Carriers Arms Hotel, Maryborough in May. The
feedback from the event has been positive with guests
enjoying presentations from representatives of Jobs
Queensland, PFD Food Services and Ice & Beverage
Solutions. PFD Food Services again showcased the
quality fresh produce they have available to all licenced
venues right across the state and special thanks must
go to Kelly Doran and Ben Taranto from PFD for
their support.
Thank you again to Michael Beck and the team
from the Carriers Arms Hotel for hosting the lunch.
The Carriers Arms Hotel is undergoing extensive
renovations and refurbishment so make sure you call in
to see the exciting changes next time you are
in Maryborough.
QHA/TABCORP RACE DAY AND HOTELIERS FORUM
The annual QHA Race Day will be held at Doomben
Racecourse on Wednesday 25 July and this year we
have proudly partnered with TABCORP to host the
event. Not only are the races a fantastic networking
opportunity this event will also feature a hoteliers forum
at 11am, prior to the first race, where TABCORP will
detail and showcase exciting changes ahead for each
of their business components for the hotel industry.
PUBS, POTS & PROFITS ROCKHAMPTON
For only the second time in Queensland, CUB
together with the QHA will be hosting the Pubs, Pots
& Profits forum for hoteliers and key staff from around
the Rockhampton region. The forum will feature
presentations from leading experts in the industry,
focusing on business development initiatives for your
hotel. The event will be held at the Leichhardt Hotel,
Rockhampton on Tuesday 19 June from 2pm to 5pm.
Canapes and networking drinks will be provided at the
conclusion of the forum. To register attendance for this
