cleaning the air; I’ve heard that one pot of aloe
could do the equivalent job of nine biological
air cleaners.
The plants and the pots have been keeping
me really busy over the last couple of years,
but I’ve always imagined Hi Cacti being a really
full, botanical home décor brand. It has a very
Tex-Mex-meets-Palm-Springs vibe, with the
plants and colours. I love collaborating with
other local makers and artists – like Hello Marine
(we sell some of her prints) – and recently
we’ve been creating more of our own products.
We’ve just brought out our Frida Kahlo eye
mask, which was a collaboration with my intern
Maya. I’ve been obsessed with Frida Kahlo
probably since I was about 12 years old and
I studied Latin American art at university, so
she was always an absolute favourite. I feel like
there’s a lot of Frida in Hi Cacti.
