demand strong<br />
The popularity of sections in the 2000m2 to 2500m2<br />
range has been so great that Wilfield subdivision<br />
in West Melton has reconfigured its stage plan to<br />
incorporate more in this size bracket.<br />
Launched in 2015, Wilfield offers sections<br />
that range from 900m2 up to 6500m2 with<br />
prices starting at $245,000.<br />
Hamish Wheelans, director of Gillman<br />
Wheelans, developer of the subdivision,<br />
said that demand in the subdivision has<br />
been across the board, both in size of<br />
sections purchased and buyer demographic.<br />
“There has been strong demand for the<br />
900m2 to 1500m2 sections as well as our<br />
biggest offerings, but it is in this 2000m2 to<br />
2500m2 range where present demand lies,”<br />
he said.<br />
Wilfield has proven extremely popular<br />
with purchasers since launch, with 130<br />
sections having been sold in less than three<br />
years. This has seen the development of an<br />
adventure playground and tennis court as<br />
well as the recent opening of a new preschool.<br />
“The growth of Wilfield and our<br />
neighbouring subdivision of Preston<br />
Downs is synonymous with the growth<br />
of West Melton since the Christchurch<br />
earthquakes. As well as the new retail<br />
area, the West Melton Community<br />
and Recreation Centre is scheduled for<br />
completion later this year. As a sponsor of<br />
the Centre, we are looking forward to that<br />
date as we know it will become a focal point<br />
for the community,” he said.<br />
The Wilfield sales office is open every<br />
Wednesday and Sunday, 1pm to 3pm.<br />
