This light <strong>of</strong> life is in every man that comes<br />

into <strong>the</strong> world. It "lighteth every man coming into<br />

<strong>the</strong> world." R.V. As he comes into <strong>the</strong> world, he<br />

receives <strong>the</strong> light. It is ours from our earliest<br />

infancy. With our first breath we have <strong>the</strong> life <strong>of</strong><br />

Christ. What for?--"The Word is very nigh unto<br />

<strong>the</strong>e, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou<br />

mayest do it." (Deut. 30:14) And this Word was in<br />

<strong>the</strong> beginning with God, and <strong>the</strong> Word was God.<br />

So although "<strong>the</strong> wicked are estranged from <strong>the</strong><br />

womb; <strong>the</strong>y go astray as so<strong>on</strong> as <strong>the</strong>y be born,<br />

speaking lies" (Ps. 58:3), <strong>the</strong>re is no excuse for<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir so doing. God's eternal power and Divinity<br />

are to be seen in <strong>the</strong>m as well as in <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r things<br />

that He has made, "that <strong>the</strong>y may be without<br />

excuse." (Rom. 1:19, 20) The life is with <strong>the</strong>m<br />

from <strong>the</strong> very beginning, in order that <strong>the</strong>y may<br />

live even as Christ lived.<br />

Do you say that this but increases <strong>the</strong><br />

c<strong>on</strong>demnati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> all mankind, in that all have<br />

sinned, and "<strong>the</strong>re is n<strong>on</strong>e that doeth good, no, not<br />

<strong>on</strong>e?" Very true, but "where sin abounded, grace<br />

did much more abound." Great as <strong>the</strong><br />
