epresented God to man, that God might in Him<br />

exhibit His idea <strong>of</strong> a man.<br />

The <strong>on</strong>e who rules is <strong>the</strong> <strong>on</strong>e to judge. Man is<br />

rightful lord <strong>of</strong> this earth, and <strong>the</strong>refore he is <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>on</strong>e to whom judgment is necessarily committed.<br />

"The saints shall judge <strong>the</strong> world." (1 Cor. 6:2)<br />

"Let <strong>the</strong> saints be joyful in glory; let <strong>the</strong>m sing<br />

aloud up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir beds. Let <strong>the</strong> high praises <strong>of</strong> God<br />

be in <strong>the</strong>ir mouth, and a two-edged sword in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

hand; to execute vengeance up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> hea<strong>the</strong>n, and<br />

punishments up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> people; to bind <strong>the</strong>ir kings<br />

with chains, and <strong>the</strong>ir nobles with fetters <strong>of</strong> ir<strong>on</strong>; to<br />

execute up<strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong>m <strong>the</strong> judgment written; this<br />

h<strong>on</strong>our have all His saints." (Ps. 149:5-9) But <strong>the</strong>y<br />

have this power <strong>on</strong>ly when as s<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> men <strong>the</strong>y are<br />

also s<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> God. In Christ, through <strong>the</strong> eternal<br />

Spirit, we become <strong>the</strong> s<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> God as surely as we<br />

are now <strong>the</strong> s<strong>on</strong>s <strong>of</strong> our parents, and are heirs <strong>of</strong><br />

His goodness as surely as we by nature inherit <strong>the</strong><br />

traits <strong>of</strong> our earthly fa<strong>the</strong>rs. Through <strong>the</strong> exceeding<br />

great and precious promises <strong>of</strong> God we become<br />

"partakers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Divine nature." (2 Peter 1:4) "As<br />

many as received Him, to <strong>the</strong>m gave He power to<br />
