FRC July Member of the Month
Amy Barrington
Foothills Riding Club is happy to celebrate our July Member of the Month, Amy Barrington!
Amy has been a staple in the foothills equestrian community for the last 14 years. She is a
wonderful trainer, competitor, and inspiration to everyone
around her.
When Amy moved here from Arizona, she would often drive
or ride by FENCE and was intrigued by the FRC shows
because they always looked so great. She began to get
involved with the FRC soon after, bringing students and
young horses to our shows. Now a ’days, Amy often
designs the stadium jumping courses at our Combined
Training shows that always ride so well!
Amy is a nationally recognized eventer and has helped
many in the area advance through the levels as well. She
can often be found on the cross-country course with a
group of students around her and her adorably fuzzy dog
Izzy by her side. Amy can recall many great horses that
have come in and out of her life, but the most amazing
was her horse Platinum. He was long listed for the US
Eventing Team when she first moved to Tryon. They
competed at many advanced level events in the area and
he eventually retired to live out his life on her farm. Amy
loves to adopt and retrain retired thoroughbreds, too!
