Hoop and Annie Over. We also played dominos
and pickup sticks, and made corncob dolls.
There was a small fee for each activity but we did
not mind paying it because the money was going
to a local charity. We also enjoyed going through
the party vendor stations and sampling their
wares and seeing what they had to offer if hired
for an actual party. This was a good way to see
what all is available.
the barbeque
We ate an authentic chuck wagon barbeque that
was cooked by a chuck wagon gang dressed in
authentic 1836 attire. The cost was $12 per plate,
but again did not mind the cost because
proceeds were going to a local charity.
After doing more activities, we came back to
hear another band, which was another country
band. People were starting to dance so we
joined in. Enjoyed that everyone was having fun
and participating.
Went back over to the stage area to listen to a
band that was playing music that would have
been played around 1836. There were dance
instructors there showing us how the people of
that time danced, and they also explained some
of the history of the songs they sang. Very
entertaining and educational.
After getting some snacks, we went back to see
exciting because the Texans won the battle very
decidedly. This made us feel very proud of our
state.
