Collaborations are ‘Made in Staffordshire’
On Thursday 28th March 2018, manufacturing businesses from all over the county came together to
celebrate the Made in Staffordshire ‘Meet the Buyer’ event at St. George’s Park, Burton-upon-Trent.
The day was a fantastic opportunity for local manufacturers and
engineering businesses to meet, network and liaise with potential
customers from across the Staffordshire region. It was also a
chance for manufacturers to pitch their products and services
and for delegates to gain an insight into the support available for
emerging businesses. The event was funded by the Stoke-on-Trent
and Staffordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and organised by
Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.
Mike Cole, Head of Public Affairs at Michelin Tyre PLC, said: “It’s always
a pleasure to meet up with other Staffordshire based manufacturers
and see how they are progressing. Such a wide and diverse range of
products suggests the local manufacturing economy is moving forward
in these interesting times.”
The event encouraged local businesses to showcase their
products, helping to further develop for the manufacturing sector.
Business is 'Made in Staffordshire'
Staffordshire Moorlands manufacturing company,
Bebbington Brick, was just one of the exhibitors at the
event.
Simon Morley, Business Development Manager at
Bebbington, said: “Following the event I have been in
contact with three potential new suppliers, plus a local
company who is considering incorporating our products
into their own portfolio. I also had enquiries from four
individuals interested in our products or services.”
It is fantastic to hear first hand how these events are
actively helping local Staffordshire based businesses
to network and generate custom through face to
face showcasing, and in these ever-changing times
it is inspiring to witness such community spirit in the
business and manufacturing world.
