// INTRODUCTION
The Danube Cycle Path has run for over 30
years, through one of Europe’s oldest cultural
and diverse landscapes. From the former
bishopric of Passau, one can reach the
Slovak capital Bratislava by passing through
the likes of Linz, the UNESCO City of Media
Arts, as well as the romantic Wachau and
the former imperial residence of Vienna. In
between, picturesque sites reveal the many
secrets of the legendary Danube region. The
Danube Cycle Path, with its hardly noticeable
gradients, is ideally driven downstream and
while, a fitting challenge for cycling enthusiasts,
remains an enjoyment for families and
those more leisurely inclined.
// LENGTH
The Danube Cycle Path from Passau to Bratislava
has a length of about 381 km and can generally
cycled on both banks.
// NUMBER OF STAGES
The Danube Cycle Path is divided into 17 attractive
stages across both riverbanks. The stages are between
18 and 68 km long and can be undertook
individually. On average, it takes about one hour
for 10 – 20 km, depending on individual fitness
and bike type.

// BED+BIKE ESTABLISHMENT
Approximately 53 establishments between Passau
and Vienna have been approved by the ADFC as
Bed+Bike establishments. In addition of secure bikeparking
spaces, these facilities provide drying rooms
for wet clothes as well as e-charging stations.
// FABULOUS LANDSCAPES
Along the route, cyclists will encounter exciting
landscapes such as the Danube-bend Schlögen
or the Wachau-region, a UNESCO World Heritage
Site. Equally, cities such as Vienna, Linz or Passau
are also reached during the ride; as are the St.
Florian Abbey and the picturesque Melk Abbey.
