Alleys and Members On The Move!
CRCAF Goes On The Road
With the help of the NORCO Clowns, CRCAF
members and COAI International Ambassadors George
Mudd, Roy Sandburg, Michael Blaine, Gerald Boprey,
John Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Dyann Giles, Gavin
Giles, and Andy Mullin, Fuddi-Duddy a.k.a. Paul
Kleinberger took the Clown Arts Festival north to
Montreal, Quebec on March 22. The purpose of the trip
was a parade appearance and some cross border promotion
of the clown arts. Upon their arrival in Montreal, these
clowns joined forces with Montreal’s Karnak Clowns.
Together they appeared in the annual St Patrick’s Day
Parade. Montreal’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration is
supposedly the longest running celebration in North
America, claiming roots back to 1759. Locals claim
the parade has been an annual event since 1824. We
don’t know about that! We do know that the contingent
of clowns entertained the thousands upon thousands of
people along the streets of Montreal who expressed their
love of clowns with great enthusiasm! Crowd estimates
exceeded 500,000 people. Many friendships were
made. The CRCAF Clowns and the Karnak Clowns now
have several other cross border events and exchanges on
the drawing board.
Parade Season is coming and this is a reminder of the
fun, that Alley #313 had last year. The theme was “Proud
to be an American” and our banner said, “Proud to be
an American --Proud to be a Clown.” We had fun making
all the children young and old smile. This year’s theme is
“Trust in God.” I can't wait to see what we can come up
with this year.
Nampa has the best Patriotic parade in the state.
