THE CIRCUMSTANCES<br />
around the death of a 22-yearold<br />
American woman in Sumner<br />
are still unclear.<br />
Emergency services were<br />
called to a property on<br />
Spinnaker Lane just before 1am<br />
on Monday.<br />
A friend was performing CPR<br />
on the woman, Lauren Biddle,<br />
when they arrived.<br />
It is believed Ms Biddle had<br />
also visited the home where she<br />
died the day before.<br />
Detective Senior Sergeant Greg<br />
Cottam said yesterday inquiries<br />
into the death, which remains<br />
unexplained, were still ongoing.<br />
He said police had spoken<br />
to all the people living at the<br />
address.<br />
An autopsy was completed on<br />
Tuesday.<br />
A preliminary cause of death<br />
has been identified and is<br />
with the coroner, including a<br />
toxicology report.<br />

Hospital chapel<br />

<strong>The</strong> Christchurch Hospital<br />
Nurses’ Memorial Chapel is<br />
set to reopen on Saturday after<br />
earthquake repairs. <strong>The</strong> 90-yearold<br />
chapel, located at the hospital<br />
