Conference on Britain’s future: Will our<br />

nation carry on casting off the Christian faith?<br />

Will it carry on abandoning Biblical morality (as<br />

is happening even in many churches), in the<br />

cause of so called liberal progressiveness? Our<br />

conference on <strong>Oct</strong>ober 13th will focus upon the<br />

need for the nation to return to the one true faith<br />

Jesus Christ crucified for sinners. The Bible<br />

plainly teaches that national prosperity, security<br />

and well-being depend totally upon a country’s<br />

standing before God. So the conference<br />

(beginning at 11am and going on till 4pm) will<br />

focus upon the need for Britain to return to its<br />

Christian foundations. Fuller details about the<br />

are welcome to attend.<br />

Sunday School: Our Bible-based Sunday<br />

school for children aged 4-14 operates each<br />

Sunday from 12:30-13.30pm. Please contact me<br />

Tylers Green Methodist Church<br />

In a service at The Avenue, High Wycombe<br />

Methodist Church, Rev Vida Foday was<br />

welcomed as a Circuit Minister with pastoral<br />

care for Tylers Green and three other Circuit<br />

Churches. In a message to the folk at our<br />

Coppice Farm Road Church, Vida writes:<br />

“My hope is that God, who has called me to<br />

His service, will guide, strengthen, and grant me<br />

the wisdom to lead and support my new<br />

congregations in the journey of faith. What<br />

assured my family and I that the High Wycombe<br />

Circuit is indeed where God wants me to be<br />

now, is the great welcome and hospitality that<br />

we received when we first visited the four<br />

churches. We met with a cross-section of lovely<br />

people from the churches and from the Circuit<br />

plus the Superintendent Minister, and the<br />

hospitality was the great attraction.<br />

I am a down-to-earth person, ready to learn<br />

and share my gifts with everyone. My initial<br />

priorities at my four Churches will be to<br />

encourage the congregations to develop and<br />

deepen their faith, to assist individuals in<br />

sharing that faith in a way that draws other<br />

people to God. More importantly, I hope to<br />

provide pastoral support (which I am passionate<br />

about) to my four congregations. Getting to<br />

know my new congregations and their needs in<br />

terms of ministry will be on top of my agenda.”<br />

We look forward to helping Vida to get to<br />

know our area and providing opportunities for<br />

you to meet with her in due course.<br />

On Sunday 11th <strong>Nov</strong>ember at 10.45am there<br />

will be a special service commemorating 100<br />

years since the end of the First World War.<br />

You are also welcome to come to our charity<br />

lunch on Saturday 11th <strong>Oct</strong>ober at noon when<br />

we shall be raising money for Action for<br />

Children. For catering purposes please let me<br />
