CLUBS
& SOCIETIES
P&TG Scout Group
The Scouts had a group picnic and games
evening on the back common on 13th July. We
were having a great time until the occurance of
a sudden downpour. With all those sunny days
we had this year we picked a dud day! It only
slightly dampened an otherwise fun time.
Our Autumn Jumble Sale is this month on
Saturday 6th October at the Village Hall starting
at 1.00pm. Please come along and bag a
bargain. We are always looking for help so why
not spare a couple of hours? On Friday night
we will be getting ready from 6.30pm to
8.30pm and on Saturday morning from 9.00am.
We hope to see a big crowd turn up.
Guides, Brownies & Rainbows
Tylers Green/Hazlemere needs more volunteers
to help keep our Guiding Units running.
What volunteering is all about? It's about
empowering girls and giving them new
experiences. It's being a role model and helping
girls to realise their full potential. It's sharing
and developing your skills.
I don’t have any experience of
volunteering, or the right skills to volunteer.
No experience is needed – just come along and
see what we’re all about! You’ll soon get a
feeling for the group and with the new
programme it couldn’t be a better time to start..
You could even try some different groups and
see where you’d prefer to be. Don’t think you
don’t have the right skills – any skills are useful,
and you’ll quickly gain new ones! We are a
caring, friendly lot, so what are you waiting
for?! The Leadership qualification is always
recognised on your CV but there are other roles
which do not involve any qualification.
Do something for you and your
community. Meet new friends living near you
or take a break from your everyday routine.
Share a skill or specialism. Make a difference to
the lives of girls in your community. Spend time
laughing, playing and being inspired by
incredible girls and young women
Whether you've been involved in guiding
before or you are completely new to us, you'll
feel proud to watch girls grow through guiding.
Village Care
Village Care has funded a defibrillator for Tylers
Green Middle School and public use, with funds
from the Village Care Open Gardens Day.
Vanessa Pinkney, Headteacher of the School,
thanked David Williams, Village Care Treasurer,
for the generous gift, and said the defibrillator
would be a support for the School, its many
visitors and the public in the area who will have
constant access.
We could do with another telephonist for
Village Care: please ring Gillian Watkins if you
would like to talk about doing telephony once a
month (815693). If you would like to drive for
Village Care, either once a month or as an extra
driver, please contact Rob Haddon on 817893.
And we are still looking for a replacement
Treasurer, as David is retiring: please ring me.
You will be part of a great team.
The Village Care AGM will take place on
