Often, Doing the Right Thing may not be an
easy decision and may not be popular and may
even be painful. “As leaders, doing the right
thing for the right reasons might require you
to drink the bitter cup in form of ridicule,
rejection, and anger. Your human tendency will
be to try and avoid the pain. Leading like Jesus
(and Effective & Enduring Leadership) will call
you to proceed in faith and to trust in God's
grace to provide you with the courage to do the
right thing and finish the task.” ~ Lead Like
Jesus. When we place our faith in God and
choose to Do the Right Thing, the Holy Spirit
springs into action on our behalf providing
the wisdom, strength, and guidance we need
to carry through with our decision.
1~ Is it Biblically correct? E & E Leaders
weigh their decisions and actions against
God's Word. If the decision or action does not
align with God's Word then it must be rethought
so that it does. John 1:1-5 tells us, “In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. He was with
God in the beginning. Through him all things
were made; without him nothing was made
that has been made. In him was life, and that
life was the light of all mankind. The light
shines in the darkness, and the darkness has

not overcome it.” Since the Word was there in
the beginning and the Word was with God
and the Word was God; does it not make sense
that the Word is good enough for us to
measure our lives against? Since all things
were made through God and nothing that has
been made has been made without God; then
perhaps we should pay close attention to what
the Master Creator has to say. Since God is the
light of all mankind and darkness cannot
overcome that light; should we not take
advantage of that light in our lives? Effective
& Enduring Leaders understand the truth and
significance of God's Word and seek to align
all their decisions and actions with it and
teach their people to do the same. Proverbs
18:10 says, “The name of the Lord is a fortified
tower, the righteous run to it and are safe.”
“If you only use the Bible to study and apply its
practical wisdom about dealing with people
and overcoming internal challenges, it still
would stand alone as the greatest book ever
written.” ~ Lead Like Jesus. Is the Bible real?
