INTERVIEW
PERU NEEDS GOOD
EXAMPLES AND BEST
PRACTICES FOR ITS
PROGRESS AND WELFARE
Message for the launch of the Plan Wallata
by Carlos Alberto Arrarte, president of
Turismo Cuida and LimaTours. March 2017
Good morning to everybody,
Allillanchu!
Ollantaytambo has the right and the opportunity
to benefit more and better from tourism. The Plan
Wallata seeks that the 12,000 inhabitants that live in
the district, in the town, the three basins and the valley
floor, achieve to improve their quality of life through
better management of tourism, that integrates all the
interested actors, in the community, the public sector
and the private sector. A tourism ‘minka’, which benefits
the population of Ollantaytambo.
The world needs more Ollantaytambo. The Plan Wallata
seeks that the 2 million national and foreign tourists who
visit and/or transit the district annually, also improve
their lives by learning and sharing with the community
its authenticity, its wisdom, its spirituality, its simplicity,
its peace, its communion with nature, its creativity, its
millenary culture. An ‘ayni’ of tourism. A happy and
virtuous barter between the economic value of tourists
and the human value of the people from Ollantaytambo.
