NEW YEAR, NEW YOU...<br />

By now you’re potentially<br />

disgusted by the volume of<br />

Quality Street that you’ve<br />

consumed, I know I am... again!<br />

There are still a few mince pies knocking<br />

about and I’ll be having Turkey and Boxing<br />

Day ham sandwiches at work for a few<br />

more days yet but thoughts turn to another<br />

action-packed year and a better physical<br />

condition would help.<br />

Don’t beat yourself up about a festive season<br />

excess, it’s not a bad thing, far from it,<br />

Christmas is the time for merriment, the clue<br />

is in the name Merry Christmas.<br />

Life is all about balance, so why not make<br />

<strong>2019</strong> your year to work on a few things,<br />

perhaps consider health and fitness so you can<br />

head into Christmas this year guilt free?<br />

Some of you may have already signed up to<br />

a new gym as part of a New Year resolution<br />

but for most that exuberance is short<br />

lived, statistics show that 14% of <strong>January</strong><br />

registrations disappear by the following month<br />

and a whopping 80% don’t make it past 5<br />

months.<br />

Whilst the stats are shocking they’re not that<br />

surprising, unless you’ve got will power in<br />

abundance the energy to maintain a strict gym<br />

attending schedule, especially in these bleak<br />

winter months, can fade promptly.<br />

Then there’s the workout, you’ve taken a few<br />

moves from the latest Men’s / Women’s Health<br />

whilst also studying Instagram to ensure<br />
